Breakthrough

Lost in the dark AGAIN? ...Well, not for long! A new year in Animation school has just begun, which means learning a lot about movies... MY movie, too. My 3rd and final feature film I never got around to.

To recap, I threw together Battle Morale in 3 and a half months, took a year-long break, then spent around 1 and a half years to make Pirates, Camera, Action! ...With a cliffhanger at the end of that 2nd film, I dived into me 3rd and final film straightaway without a plan. That was me first error in judgement.

But these past few weeks I've learned much about demo-reels and movies, and the importance of keeping them short, engaging, and fast-paced. -Only yer best work. Ya want to stuff everything in there just like I tried to do, but ya can't. And that was me second error.

...And me third and most crucial error was something I never even once thought of before until now: My movie, and whatever progress I made of it was TOO LOOOOONNNNGGGGGG to complete!!

As of now, 1 and 3/4 years have passed since me last movie production, and I spent most of that time getting me ship sailing in animation school, and debating over why I never got me final movie done! ...But as my animation teachers say, "These things take time."

Now that I've taken that time, I've looked over my 30-minute movie-in-progress, never before noticing how much filler and excess is in there. I wrote down a new script for almost every one of those chapters, and by a rough estimate, That script is gonna squash that movie project all the way down into a 5-10 minute movie-in-progress. Wow! ...If I can condense ALL the chapters of my final movie to be like that, my movie critic just might be impressed enough to recommend my movie this time!

...So what do I do with that 30-minute mess? ...Oh, don't you worry, I shan't destroy that. Nay, if I converted some of me chapters into deleted scenes, then I shall convert THIS whale of a video into something entirely NEW on me channel. And with all me newfound practice, I may finally pull off an official trailer for me final "Pirates, Camera, Action!" movie and prepare to finish me trilogy! YO HO, HERE I GO!!
